"What are little boys made of?"

I've found that with each pregnancy, I tend to fall into eating patterns involving various foods.  Now, I'm not talking about those weird cravings, that make you get your husband up in the middle of the night because once something is fixed in your mind you can't let go of it.  Actually, I never did that (Okay, so I may have asked him to make me a sandwich after we had already gotten in bed) --but I found that cravings like that were seldom satisfied by the acquisition of the thing, since it was always so perfect in my mind, and the real thing never could measure up.  I simply leave such cravings as, "You, know what I'm really craving right now?  (Fill in the blank.)  Weird huh?"  However, don't let me dissuade you if you need to test your loved one's dedication to you by sending him on midnight goose-chases.  Sometimes you need that assurance --especially when you're suffering from pregnancy hormones and assume you must look like a hippo with a gland problem, and are sure that your husband is only staying with you out of pity.
Anyway, back to where I started...  Each of my children have been more or less made up of certain foods I ate during each trimester of each pregnancy (Luckily, no snakes or snails or puppy dog tails here).  They are (and really only for my own history-keeping's sake) as follows:

1st Baby:  1st trimester --Jello every morning first thing.  I still hold a grudge against whoever ate my Jello out of the fridge when we were staying at my parent's house at Christmastime.

2nd trimester --Rotisserie Chicken (--honestly, I'd pick the bones and feel like such a greasy carnivore,  it was great!) and Domino's Philly Cheese Steak Pizza --no marinara for me.

3rd trimester -- Cantaloupe --like a half of one for breakfast every morning, along with fried eggs on toast.  I was supposed to be on bed-rest, but I couldn't keep from getting up to make myself this breakfast. (My husband was out of town, or I would have had him do it.)

2nd Baby:  1st trimester -- Kix --every morning.  I would share a bowl or two with my toddler because I couldn't even feed him properly until I got some food in me.  Of course, this was before they changed the recipe --don't try to tell me they didn't --I would know. Plus I compared the nutrition facts on an old box to the new.  I can't stand them now.

2nd trimester -- BBQ Chicken Thighs --a recipe our neighbor got me hooked on, and Crinkle Fries to go with it.  I talked my husband into buying a grill for this meal alone.

3rd trimester -- Deli Sandwiches, with all the fixins.  Ahh, the good old days when I had the time and energy to put one all together.

3rd Baby:  1st trimester -- Frosted mini wheats for breakfast, Popcorn and Juice as needed*.

2nd trimester -- Freezer foods --especially chicken patty sandwiches, but also fish sticks, corn dogs, pizzas and burritos-- mainly out of laziness and not wanting to cook.  My poor family.  I'm not even going to gross you out by adding a picture.

3rd Trimester -- Oreos.  I wouldn't be surprised if this baby came out looking like a panda.  By the way, is anyone else out there like me?  For some reason (possibly OCD related), I have to end on the creme part --completely deconstructing my Oreos so that I can savor that sweet, sugary, Crisco-esque texture before washing it down with cold milk.   MmmMmm!

Now that's what I'm talkin' about.

I see a degenerating pattern here too now that I look at it.   I've gotten more and more unhealthy with each pregnancy.  I wonder if it will reflect on the kids' metabolisms.  I sure hope not, cause that just wouldn't be fair to them.  Either way, I'm going to have to go through some serious detox after this baby is born.

Also, to be fair, none of these pictures are mine, except the BBQ Chicken one (looks pretty professional eh?).  I confess, I stole them off google images.  I'm a pirate.  Arrr!

*(TMI ALERT!) ...To keep from throwing up.  Although it's really unpleasant to throw up popcorn if it doesn't work to stave off the nausea.  Here's a tip I got --when you're morning sick, eat French Toast.  If you're going to throw up no matter what, at least French Toast tastes the same coming back up.

That last picture is classic. Ha ha! Sometimes I want to be an oreo woodchipper!

P.S. You weren't kidding about the TMI part. ;)
